Get Beach-Ready in No Time with these Easy Tips

With swim season only a couple of months away, the big question on everyone’s mind is “do I have time to get my body ready for the beach?” The answer is an absolute yes. The less time to get ready the more extreme the work to get ready. By combining a regular workout with a healthy eating lifestyle you can be ready.

First, let’s flush the body so it is ready to work better. My favorite is a smoothie diet for 3-5 days. Drink lots of water. For each meal drink a 20 ounce fruit and veggie smoothie. I use frozen fruit and fresh veggies. Herbs are a great way to change up the flavors to keep from getting bored with this diet. If DIY isn’t for you, you can follow a cleanse program like Mannatech’s 30-Day Purification program that shares recipes and tips to use throughout your cleanse.

During the flush keep your workouts easy. Walking, swimming, or biking for 20-30 minutes per day.

Now for the long term diet to get us beach ready. The main idea for this diet is no processed foods. That means all fresh fruits, fresh veggies, lean meats, and low fat dairy. And still drink lots of water. Some great ideas are stir fries, roasted veggies with grilled meats, kabobs, lettuce wraps and of course salads. I love to grill so I like to make an entire meal on the grill.

Now its time to amp up the work out, just not all at once. Keep up with the activities you already started, and add to them. Some suggestions depending on what you like are Pilates 2-3 days per week, weight lifting 2-3 days per week, change walking to running if you are ready, or a combination of them all. Variety will keep the boredom away which makes it easier to keep at it.

For some people a support system is necessary. Recruit a workout partner, or join a gym with a trainer to keep you on track. Do whatever works best for you. In the end the hard work is worth it. The healthy diet and exercise will leave feeling and looking terrific.
